Media Campaigns
My primary role at Legacy was managing the agency’s media relations function. Not only did I respond to reporter’s inquiries, but I proactively pitched stories, developed an owned media platform through KPFT 90.1 FM and submitted bylined articles to local magazines. In total, I placed (proactive, reactive and owned) more than 150 stories (TV, radio and print).
In order to keep Legacy in the news at all times, I organized multiple media campaigns. Topics of focus included: Affordable Care Act, World AIDS Day, Civic engagement/Voter Registration, Back to School and more. I worked with various media outlets including, The Houston Chronicle, the Baytown Sun, KPRC Channel 2, KTRK Channel 13, FOX 26 and much more. I even worked with Hispanic media outlets (TV and radio primarily).
